How to sterilize veterinary syringe needles
1. Generally, the syringes used to inject pigs are veterinary metal syringes. The suitable disinfection method for metal syringes is boiling disinfection. The boiling disinfection method is to use boiling hot water at 100°C and put a metal syringe in it for 5 minutes, so that all bacterial propagules can be killed. The boiling disinfection method is suitable for moisture-resistant and high-temperature-resistant items, such as metal, enamel, glass, rubber, etc.
2. When sterilizing the metal syringe, you must first loosen the fixing screw, unscrew and pull out the piston, and finally take out the glass tube, and then wrap the glass tube with gauze. The items must be washed before cooking, and the items must be completely submerged in water when cooking, and the shaft and cover must be opened. Start timing after the water boils, if you need to add items midway, restart the timing after the second water boiling.
3. Pay attention when disinfecting veterinary syringes. Glass items must be wrapped with gauze, and then put in cold or warm water. Rubber items should also be wrapped with gauze, and put in after the water boils. The shaft joints of the instruments and the lids of the containers must be opened. Bowls and basins of the same size cannot overlap. Smaller items should be wrapped with gauze so that they can be submerged in water. Note that this method cannot be used for sharp instruments to avoid heat damage and bluntness. Metal syringes cannot be autoclaved or dry heat sterilized because the rubber rings and gaskets inside are prone to deterioration.
